Frequently Asked Questions

What is a HELOC?
A home equity line of credit is a revolving credit line secured by the equity in your home. You draw what you need during the draw period, pay interest only on what you use, and repay principal and interest afterward.
How much equity can I access?
Most programs allow a combined loan-to-value of about 80% - your mortgage plus the new line divided by the home value. Use our calculator to see your estimate.
Does checking my rate affect my credit?
No. We start with a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your score. A hard inquiry only happens if you choose to move forward with an offer.
Can business owners qualify?
Yes. Our programs are built for owners who use home equity to fund their business. Business income and ownership are part of the review.
How long does it take?
Rate checks take minutes. Full approvals and funding typically take a few weeks depending on the appraisal and title work required.
What documents will I need?
Proof of identity, proof of income, your most recent mortgage statement and, for business owners, basic business details. We tell you exactly what is needed after the first step.
Is the rate fixed or variable?
Most HELOCs are variable during the draw period; some programs offer fixed-rate draws. Your specialist will walk you through the options in your offer.
Are there fees to apply?
There is no fee to apply or check your rate. Any closing costs are disclosed in writing before you commit to anything.
